GIBBI Carsharing 3.0
In this article, I write about that I pivoted for second time my business idea GIBBI Carsharing.
If You read frequently my posts here in my blog and X, you know that one of my dream is to create my startup where I can bring to the people and the world something to use and improve their life, so for that reason in this moment I’m working in create my startup that I call GIBBI Carsharing, where it’s a business to customer carsharing company that wants to connect car rental companies with people that work in rail-hailing companies as driver to rent a car,
So remember that in the beginning of the year I decided to apply to YC Spring 2025 batch, because I know that if my GIBBI Carsharing is selected in this batch it has better opportunities to make a reality and become a startup, but in the same time I know that it’s very difficult to be selected because less than 5% of startups that apply are selected in any batch, so this is my 7th time that I apply but they’ve not called came yet and I assume that I wasn’t selected again, but in the end the most important isn’t to be selected in a YC batch but to make that GIBBI Carsharing that can bring customers and generate revenues, this is the main goal,
So remember that last month based in the information/feedback that I got from my potential customers, my potential co-founder and me decided to pivote the idea from a customer to customer carsharing company to a business to customer carsharing company, where last month I wrote an article here where I explain my decision and what we’re working in that moment,
So after working in this new approach, B2B Carsharing Company, my potential co-founder and me detected that our niche was “smaller” and these new potential customers didn’t like much the idea, especially the car rental companies, and because the drivers think that it was better to buy a car from a dealership than to rent a car from a car rental company because the former it was better, easier and cheaper option,
For that reason, my potential co-founder and me decided to switch again from a Business to Customer Carsharing Company to a Customer to Customer Carsharing Company because it’s a “bigger” niche, and we detected that here in México and Latam there are several C2C carsharing companies that are working and there’s a big market,
Now what we’re working in improve the next things:
We decided to change the low code app that We were using to create our product; We were using Codev app to create our app but We understood that Replit is a better app to create our app
Our product now will change, remember that our betta app was focused in a B2C carsharing company, but now we’re working in C2C carsharing app and we’re working in creating this app and in this moment it’s finished yet
We changed our customers from car rental companies and people/drivers that use ride-hailing companies to work, to people (owners) that want to rent their car to earn an extra income and people (drivers) that use a ride-hailing companies to work
We decided that in the beginning our niche is in México City (the best place in Latam to start a startup) to establish our startup and look for our customers, and later we can expand to other big cities of the country (Guadalajara, Monterrey, etc) and later in U.S
We think that in one month we have our betta app ready to work, to bring the customer and generate revenues (in the end this is the main goal)
We’re still working in bring another co-founder (CTO) and 3 or 5 employees to help us to improve and grow GIBBI Carsharing,
Finally, I just want to tell you that any update of this project (good or bad) I’m going to share with you here in my blog and my other social media platforms (X, YouTube, Spotify), and in the same time I’d like that you can give me a feedback about GIBBI Carsharing and what I’m doing in GIBBI (my blog),
