Walmart México & Central America Announces C-Level Changes (Business Insider México)
WALMEX announced this friday that will make some changes in c-level jobs that will be proposed in the next Board Meeting of April
Ignacio Caride will be promoted as CEO and President of WALMEX, where Caride has worked with WALMEX since 2018 and has occupated c-level jobs
Gui Loureiro, CEO and President of WALMEX, will be promoted as VP Executive and CEO Regional of Walmart for Canada, México and Central America
GIBBI View: Gui Loureiro is promoted for his amazing job in WALMEX and how WALMEX has growth and expanded since He took posession as CEO, now I think that Walmart will want that Loureiro replicates this amazing work in another regions; Ignacio Caride has worked with WALMEX since 2018 and know the company, so I think that He’s gonna continue with the great work that Loureiro has done
Spotify Plans New Remixing Tools For The TikTok Generation (WSJ)
The audio streaming company is developing tools that would allow subscribers to speed up, mash up and otherwise edit songs from their favorite artists, according to people familiar with the discussions
Spotify’s exploration of the new tools spotlights a scramble among music and tech executives to ensure artists and labels continue to make money even as the way fans consume music evolves
The effort is an opportunity for Spotify to seize listening time that it has so far ceded to social platforms such as TikTok
GIBBI View: Spotify is trying to get another way to generate money and detected that a niche (people in their teens & 20s that manipulate songs) that will want to “attack” where TikTok has dominated in the last 2 years, so Spotify has the most of the song’s rights and I think that Spotify could “take away” customers from TikTok
Pelicans vs Lakers (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Today at 15:30 ET on New Orleans Arena (New Orleans, Louisiana)
Lakers: 46-35 record, 8th place on Western Conference (Play-In Zone)
Pelicans: 49-32 record, 6th place on Western Conference (Play-Offs Zone)
This Series: 2-1 against Pelicans (NBA In-Season: Lakers 133-89 Pelicans, Pelicans 129-109 Lakers, Lakers 139-122 Pelicans)
GIBBI View: Lakers need to win to get 8th place and have 2 opportunities to qualify to playoffs, if loss Lakers need that Kings & Warriors loss to get 8th place if not Lakers will get 9th place; Pelicans need to win to get 6th place and qualify to playoffs, if loss Pelicans need that Suns loss to get 6th place if not Pelicans will get 7th place and will be in play-in tournament; My Prediction: This will be a tough and close game because both teams need the victory, so I think that Lakers will win it by 1 point
Iran Launches Unprecedented Drone & Missile Attack On Israel (AXIOS)
Iran launched attack drones and missiles against Israel on Saturday night local time in retaliation for an airstrike in Syria that killed a top Iranian general
It's the first attack Iran has launched from its soil against Israel. U.S. officials are concerned an Israeli retaliation against Iran will lead to another regional escalation
Iran's specific targets were initially unclear, but the IDF ordered citizens in several areas to stay close to a safe room or a bomb shelter, saying the warning reflected officials' assessment of the targets
GIBBI View: Let’s hope that this conflict can be stopped and that Iran and Israel make an arrangment to avoid that this conflict escalate and can lead us to a bigger conflict, maybe World War III that would be the worst that could happen (maybe a Nuclear War?)
Airchat Is a Social App Built Around Talk, Not Text (Tech Crunch)
Airchat is a new social media app that encourages users to “just talk.” A previous version of Airchat was released last year, but the team, led by AngelList founder Naval Ravikant and former Tinder product exec Brian Norgard, rebuilt the app and relaunched it on iOS and Android yesterday
Currently invite-only, Airchat is already ranked #27 in social networking on Apple’s App Store
Visually, Airchat should feel pretty familiar and intuitive, with the ability to follow other users, scroll through a feed of posts, then reply to, like, and share those posts. The difference is that the posts and replies are audio recordings, which the app then transcribes
GIBBI View: I have my doubts that this social media can make it because no one wants to talk, We prefer to send a message and read it, because We’re shy people; by the way, Naval blocked me in X (former Twitter) 3 years ago because I critized him and He didn’t like my comment, so maybe He doesn’t like that I can have a different perspective than him
