GIBBI View: Liga MX returns after 2 weeks because mexican teams were playing in the Leagues Cup, so most of the Liga MX teams don’t care nor put enough effort to this tournaments and they’re focusing in Liga MX; I don’t remember that there had been 3 games played in monday, so this will be the first time; My Predictions: Tigres, América, Chivas, Toluca and Cruz Azul win; the rest of the games finish in a tie
OpenAI’s Startup Fund is raising $69.5M for 6th SPV (PitchBook)
OpenAI‘s VC arm is targeting $69.5 million for its sixth special purpose vehicle, according to an SEC filing. The SPV, which could become its largest one to date, is the latest in a recent streak for OpenAI Startup Fund, the venture arm of one of the biggest AI startups in the world
Founded in 2021, it raises funds independently from its parent company through share backers like Microsoft. In 2024, Sam Altman relinquished control of the unit to partner Ian Hathaway
Since January 2024, it has raised $114.2 million through five SPVs, TechCrunch reported. This is in addition to the flagship fund that it closed in 2023 on $175 million
GIBBI View: It’s very common that startup’s founders start their own VC company to invest money, try to help other founders and increase their wealth; also, another person that use this same kind of investment vehicle is Jason Calanis with his Syndicate’s fund where he has invested in several startups and has generated big returns
FC Barcelona strip Goalkeeper Ter Stegen of Captaincy (BBC)
Barcelona have stripped goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen of the club captaincy following disciplinary proceedings against the Germany international
According to reports, external his dispute with Barcelona arises from his unwillingness to allow them to share his medical data with La Liga, which could allow the club to register new players depending on his length of absence
Ter Stegen recently published a post on social media, external saying he would be out for three months whereas La Liga rules require a player to remain sidelined for at least four months to be considered a long-term absentee
GIBBI View: What a bad situation is happening in this moment between Barcelona and Ter Stegen, I think that Ter Stegen is in his right to doesn’t allow share his medical data because Barcelona wants to include its new signing (Joan García, Marcus Rashford) making “cheat” with the LaLiga’s rules, so let’s see what happens but Barcelona has a “fame” to give a bad treat to its starts in the end of their careers
OpenAI launches new GPT-5 Model for all ChatGPT Users (CNBC)
OpenAI on Thursday announced GPT-5, its latest and most advanced large-scale artificial intelligence model.
The company is making GPT-5 available to everyone, including its free users. OpenAI said the model is smarter, faster and “a lot more useful,” particularly across domains like writing, coding and health care
GPT-5 is rolling out to OpenAI’s Free, Plus, Pro and Team users on Thursday. This launch will be the first time that Free users have access to a reasoning model, which is a type of model that “thinks,” or carries out an internal chain of thought, before responding
GIBBI View: I think that Sam Altman and OpenAI’s strategy is to offer a freemium model, where OpenAI is going to let you use the free option and if you’re interesting you’re going to pay for a better option and OpenAI is going to bring more paid customers and will increase its revenues, this is a smart move

GIBBI View: US Open 2025 will take place from August 24tgh to September 07th in New York City, US; where the reigning champions are Jannik Sinner (men’s single) and Aryna Sabalenka (women’s singles)
