YouTube Start Jesser Signs With CAA (VARIETY)
Jesser, the YouTuber billed as the largest individual sports creator on the platform, has signed with CAA for representation in all areas
Jesser (full name: Jesse Riedel) currently has nearly 29 million subscribers on YouTube, where his channel has generated more than 7 billion lifetime views. According to his team, Jesser has more than 36 million followers across social media. He was previously repped by Night
Riedel is the founder of Bucketsquad, a multichannel creator-centered content and commerce company. Its sports and streetwear brand, Bucketsquad Apparel, launched in 2022 and will generate “eight figures” in direct-to-consumer ecommerce revenue in 2025, the company says
GIBBI View: To be honest I didn’t know about him before I read this news yesterday, but this news is interesting because remember that I have a youtube channel where I talk about sports and Jesser is the largest individual sports creator, so I can learn something about him and this can help me to bring more subscribers and generate revenues
Instagram Launches Edits App For Video (CNBC)
Instagram on Tuesday launched its standalone Edits video creation app that offers features similar to those already available from TikTok parent Bytedance
The new app allows creators to organize project ideas, shoot and edit video, and access insights about content. Edits includes background replacement, automatic captioning and artificial intelligence tools that can turn images into video
Edits appears to be Meta’s answer to CapCut, TikTok’s sister app that is also owned by China-based parent company ByteDance, which allows users to create and edit video on their phone or computer
GIBBI View: I doubt that this Instagram’s new app can dethrone TikTok because remember that Meta has the philosophy to “copy all the features of its rival” but most of the times Meta can’t compete against its rival, so the most probably is that this new app won’t “defeat” its rivals; by the way, remember that two weeks ago Trump extends for second time (another 75 more days) to ByteDance to sell its subsidary TikTok
CONCACHAMPIONS: Tigres vs Cruz Azul (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Semifinals - First Leg:
Tonight at 20:00 CT on Universitario Stadium (San Nicólas de los Garzas, Nuevo León)
Tigres defeated LA Galaxy in quaterfinals
Cruz Azul defeated América in quaterfinals
GIBBI View: This weekend the Liga MX - Regular Season ended, where Tigres finished in 4th place and Cruz Azul finished in 3rd place, and the quaterfinals will start until May 07th, so Cruz Azul and Tigres won’t “rest” and will play this two week and this will help both teams to don’t loss the football level; My Prediction: I think that the game will finish in a draw (1-1 or 2-2)
Washington Posts Ink Deal With OpenAI For New Content (The Hollywood Reporter)
The Washington Post on Tuesday said that it had inked a deal with OpenAI that will make summaries, quotes and links to its stories available in ChatGPT
“More than 500 million people use ChatGPT each week to get answers to all kinds of questions,” added Varun Shetty, head of media partnerships at OpenAI
OpenAI has been striking media deals across the industry, including major partnerships with Wall Street Journal owner News Corp., Hearst, Time, Condé Nast, and others. One outlet that has not taken OpenAI’s money is The New York Times, which has spent millions in a legal battle with the tech giant
GIBBI View: I think that this is a great news because now ChatGPT users will have more accurate info to some important stories about the world; personally, I’m using more Grok that ChatGPT because how I use X I prefer to ask questions to Grok thatn ChatGPT, but in the end I still don’t trust enough to any AI company nor its chatbot
Andreessen Horowitz Names Erik Torenberg General Partner (Pitch Book)
Andreessen Horowitz has acquired tech podcast network Turpentine and named its founder, Erik Torenberg, as the firm’s newest general partner
This is the venture capital firm’s latest move in its “going direct” approach to marketing and communications, advocating for founders (and investors) to share their messages directly with their audiences
The firm, meanwhile, reportedly has a mega-fund in the works, aiming to raise $20 billion to invest in AI. It would be one of the largest funds in VC history
GIBBI View: This is an inspiring news because remember that I’m a creator content and I have this blog, a youtube and spotify channels, so I need to keep growing my channels and start to generate revenues and maybe one day I could get a job in a VC Firm, so the VC Firms that are focusing in invest in sport media company could take a look in my job
