Stories:

Revolut Bank, The New Authorized Bank On México (El CEO)
The National Banking & Stock Commission (CNBV in spanish) authorized that Revolut Bank will operate as a bank in México, where this will be the 51st bank that will operate in the country
Revolut Bank has a social capital of $1,431 Million Pesos and its residence will be established in México City
Revolut Bank is considering a neobank, a bank that doesn’t have branch offices and everything procedure is made in its app (digital); Revolut Bank is from Great Bretain, has 40+ million customers in more than 150 countries
GIBBI View: This is a great news that another neobank can start to work here in México because now We (mexicans) have more options to select a bank and protect our money; I have accounts in several neobanks and I recommend them because everything is faster than in a bank and You don’t need to go to a branch office if You have a problem with your card or money
Apple Working To Secure Streaming Rights To New FIFA Tournament (MacRumors)
Apple is working to secure an exclusive TV deal with soccer governing organization FIFA. FIFA is planning a new month-long World Cup-style tournament that will see top teams compete, and Apple wants the TV rights
An agreement between Apple and FIFA could be announced as soon as this month, and the first tournament will take place in the United States next summer. Apple could be paying around $1 billion, and it is not yet clear if there will be any free-to-air rights
Apple sees live sports as a way to lure new customers to the Apple TV+ streaming service. In addition to the MLS deal, it has also secured a deal with Major League Baseball
GIBBI View: I think that will be the most important agreement in streaming sport deal ever, because what a FIFA World Cup represents for all the rest of the world compare with the agreement between the most important leagues ( NFL, NBA, MLS) in US with another streamings (Amazon Prime, Peacock, Apple TV+, Youtube) would be nothing comparing to what Apple+ is going to achieve; The good news is that this deal will be just in US and here in México won’t have any problem to watch FIFA World Cup Games
OpenAI Slams Musk’s “Revisionist History” In Bid to Toss Lawsuit (BNN Bloomberg)
OpenAI says Elon Musk’s claim that the company has abandoned its altruistic principles in pursuit of profits is nothing more than “revisionist history” and an effort to boost his competing artificial intelligence company
Musk, one of OpenAI’s early funders, sued the company and chief executive officer Sam Altman in March, saying it had breached its founding promise to build responsible artificial intelligence when it entered into a partnership with Microsoft Corp
“Years ago, plaintiff Elon Musk abandoned OpenAI when his bid to dominate the venture failed,” OpenAI’s lawyers said in a court filing asking for the suit to be dismissed
GIBBI View: Elon is angry because He couldn’t get the control of OpenAI and He knows that OpenAI is leading and will lead the AI race and Elon can’t get that his AI company can compete against OpenAI, so now He’s trying to “take away” OpenAI from Sam and his fellow but Elon isn’t going to win this lawsuit
Congress Passes Bill That Unlock Billions In Frozen Russian Assests (NBC News)
The House passed a foreign aid package Saturday (REPO Act), which would allow the Biden administration to confiscate billions of dollars’ worth of Russian assets sitting in U.S. banks and transfer them to Ukraine for reconstruction
More than $6 billion of the $300 billion in frozen Russian assets are sitting in U.S. banks. Most of the $300 billion in assets are in Germany, France and Belgium
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his government invested heavily in the euro and the dollar over the years to keep the ruble stable, planting $300 billion worth of foreign currency reserve
GIBBI View: This is a bad idea for two reasons: 1) This could make that the Ukraine vs Russia War could escalate more and We could see more death, and 2) This could make that countries would doubt to invest their money in US because any problem between these countries vs US would make that US could “confiscate” your funds
Coffee Drinking Hits Record High In The U.S. (AXIOS)
67% of adults in the U.S. said they had drunk coffee in the past day, according to National Coffee Association survey data published this month
That's a more than 20-year high. Back in 2004, less than half of U.S. adults had coffee in the past day, per NCA polling
Lattes are the most popular — 18% of American adults drank one in the past week — followed by espresso shots and cappuccinos, the NCA says
GIBBI View: So it’d be a great idea to invest in Coffee Futures?, and I don’t like coffee and I only drink coffee when I go to a restaurant in the morning, but I’ve seen that a lot of people love it
