Thursday Night Football Game: Week 5 Game (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Seahawks vs 49ers, tonight at 20:15 ET on Lumen Field (Seattle, Washington)
Seahawks: 3-2 record (leading NFC West)
49ers: 2-3 record (3rd place in NFC West)
GIBBI View: Seahawks have lost 2 straight games after started the season 3-0; 49ers have lost 2 games that had under control and were leading in 4th quarter by 10 points (Rams 27-24 49ers, 49ers 23-24 Cardinals); My Prediction: This is a divisional game where the game becomes tougher and closer than a normal game but I think that 49ers have better team and talent than Seahawks, and Seahawks have the home advantage, so I think that 49ers win by 3+ points
OpenAI Appoints International Expansion Boss (The Register)
Oliver Jay is taking on the role, leading OpenAI's strategy and operations in international markets
OpenAI also today announced Singapore will be home to its APAC office, serving as a hub for APAC operations. The firm already has a footprint in the region, after establishing its first Asian office in Tokyo earlier this year
Priorities for the Singapore outpost will be to work with developers, governments, and commercial partners
GIBBI View: Interesting that outside U.S., OpenAI had decided that its biggest market will be in Asia and not in Europe or Latam, because remember that they opened a branch office in Tokyo, Japan last year but they decided that APAC Office will be established in Singapore
Meta Expands AI Chatbot To UK, Brazil In Further Push For Growth (BNN Bloomberg)
Meta Platforms Inc. is expanding its AI-powered chatbot to 21 new locations, including the UK and Brazil, where the social media giant has significant numbers of users, the company announced Wednesday
Meta AI will be available beginning Wednesday in the UK, Brazil and additional countries in Latin America and Asia, the company announced in a statement. Along with the expansion, the chatbot will also add support for new languages, including Tagalog on Wednesday and Arabic and Thai in the near future
Meta earlier this year had also planned to launch its AI chatbot in the EU, before facing regulatory pushback. The company’s large language model, called Llama, is trained in part using public posts on Facebook and Instagram
GIBBI View: Meta says that almost 500 million people use Meta AI each month but I have my doubts about that because Meta AI is located in the beginning of the chat/page and most of the time you enter by mistake or just to waste your time, so I want to know the time that each person use Meta AI per day (this would give us a better perspective)
Derek Jeter Launches Production Company (The Hollywood Reporter)
The baseball hall of famer has quietly launched a production company, Cap 2 Productions, which he hopes will take full advantage of the burgeoning interest in sports-related content from TV channels and streaming services
Jeter frames Cap 2 as an expansion of what he did with The Players’ Tribune, the athlete-focused digital publication that he co-founded with Jaymee Messler in 2014
Cap 2, which is being repped by WME, has quietly developed a slate of projects – many of them baseball-related – with a number of TV and streaming partners
GIBBI View: Remember that in the last years, especially this year, several athletes (active and retired) like Tom Brady, Lebron James, Lionel Messi, Charles Barkley, and others have started their own production companies, so this is a thread that I think that will expand in the next coming years
Jürgen Klopp Lands First Job Since Leaving Liverpool (CNN Sports)
Jürgen Klopp was announced as the global head of soccer for the Red Bull group on Wednesday in what will be his first job since leaving Premier League giant Liverpool earlier this year
Klopp will assume the role with the Red Bull organization – which owns several clubs including RB Leipzig in Germany, RB Salzburg in Austria and New York Red Bulls in the US – on January 1, 2025
During his time in Liverpool, the German won almost every trophy possible including the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super League
GIBBI View: When he retired last summer I thought that he was going to coach a Top European Team (Man United, Bayern, Chelsea, Barca) or Germany National Team but he decided to take a sabbatical year; I think that sooner than later he’s going to return to coach again if RB Leipzing start to play bad football and have bad games or the Germany National Team calls him
