GIBBI View: Liga MX returns tonight with the beginning of Apertura 2025, where Toluca (reining champion team) and América are the favorite teams to win this tournament, and my Cruz Azul that have a new coach want to win anothe Liga MX, where Chivas vs Tigres game will be played until september or october; My Prediction: América, Toluca, Cruz Azul & León win their games; rest of the games finish in a tie
OpenAI Could Launch an AI Web Browser (The Verge)
OpenAI is planning to launch an AI web browser in the “coming weeks”. Sources tell the outlet that OpenAI could build its Operator AI agent into the browser, allowing it to book reservations, fill out forms, and complete other tasks on a user’s behalf as it moves toward an “agentic” future
The browser will feature a “native” ChatGPT interface, potentially allowing users to interact with the chatbot directly through the browser rather than navigating to OpenAI’s website
Last year, OpenAI had been exploring the possibility of launching a browser, and even hired two people who were “instrumental” in launching Google Chrome. OpenAI began weaving its search engine within ChatGPT last year, and building this capability into its browser seems like a logical expansion
GIBBI View: Yesterday I wrote here that Perplexity launched its AI web browser to compete against Google Chrome, where now it looks that Google is in troubles to loss its dominance in search engine and web browser against AI Startups; maybe google is going to become the next Motorola
Wimbledon 2025: Men’s Semifinals - Predictions (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
5. Taylor Fritz vs 2. Carlos Alcaraz, today at 08:30 ET
1. Jannik Sinner vs 6. Novak Djokovic, todat ay 10:10 ET
My Prediction:
Alcaraz & Djokovic advance to Final next sunday
GIBBI View: Carlos Alcaraz is the favorite to win this tournament because his the reigning champion team and he’s looking for to win his third straight wimbledon championship; Djokovic will want to take revenge of what happened one month ago where Sinner defeated Djokovic in Roland Garros’ Semifinals; I think that it’ll be repeated the wimbledon final for third straight time
Ferrero to buy WK Kellogg Cereal Business for $3.1B (CNBC)
Chocolate maker Ferrero has agreed to buy cereal giant WK Kellogg
in a deal valued at $3.1 billion, the companies announced Thursday
Shares of WK Kellogg soared 30% in premarket trading on the announcement. Excluding Thursday’s stock move, shares have fallen more than 2% this year, dragging the company’s market value down to about $1.5 billion
A Ferrero acquisition of WK Kellogg adds to consolidation in packaged foods. Many American consumers have shunned sugary cereals in favor of breakfast options considered healthier, and other shoppers moved to private label brands after inflation spiked in recent years
GIBBI View: I’m surprised that this transaction is going to happen, because I thought that Kellog was going to buy Ferrero but it happened the other way; I think that Kellanove decided to sell Kellog to focus in healthier food and try to focus in less product, and Ferrero decide to buy Kellog to increase its position in U.S.
Space Startup Varda Raises $187M to Make Drugs in Orbit (CNBC)
Space startup Varda announced on Thursday that it has raised $187 million in Series C funding, led by venture capital firms Natural Capital and Shrug Capital, to continue advancing drug manufacturing in space
The latest round included participation from Peter Thiel, Lux Capital, Khosla Ventures and Caffeinated Capital. It brought the total capital Varda’s raised to $329 million
Varda’s main mission is to launch and return drugs made in space. The startup has said the medicines crystallize differently in orbit due to the gravity differences, which would allow it to complete drugs that are currently difficult to manufacture
GIBBI View: I think that this kind of Space Startups are going to bring a lot of benefits to humanity in the future, but the problem is that this kind of startups are very costly and it’s going to take more than 10 years to see the benefits
