Western Conference: First Round - Game 2:
Tonight at 22:00 ET on Crypto Arena (Los Ángeles, California)
Game 1:
GIBBI View: Lakers played one of its worst game in the season, where Lakers played with non intensity and played bad defense, and it looks that JJ Redick was outcoached in this game; Timberwolves understood that now they are the playoffs and want to qualify to next round: My Prediction: Lakers win by 2+ points difference and tie the series
WWE Buys Mexican Lucha Libre Company AAA (The Hollywood Reporter)
TKO Group Holdings continues to expand, where WWE announcing the acquisition of the Mexican Lucha Libre promotion AAA. The deal was announced by WWE chief content officer Paul Levesque at Wrestlemania 41, alongside Fillip’s chairman Alberto Fasja, AAA’s Marisela Peña and Dorian Roldán Peña
Terms of the deal between the WWE and AAA parent company Filip were not disclosed, though the WWE says that the Peña family, which has led AAA since its founding in 1992, will continue to be involved. The promotions will host an event called “World’s Collide” in Los Angeles June 7, with talent from both companies
“AAA has been a family-operated promotion for over three decades and our trust could not be better placed than with one of the biggest sports entertainment businesses in the world,” added AAA GM Dorian Roldán Peña
GIBBI View: I think that this is a great news that WWE has acquired AAA, because now AAA will have more promotion and it’ll increase its fan base, and also it’ll give the opportunity to mexican luchadors to try to participate in WWE events, let’s see how this deal works in 5 years from now
Duke Start Cooper Flagg Declares For 2025 NBA Draft (CBS Sports)
Duke star Cooper Flagg is declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft after producing one of the best one-and-done seasons in college basketball history. He is the projected No. 1 overall pick in this summer's draft
Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game during his stellar freshman season. He finished No. 1 on his team in every major statistical category and became the fifth player in the 2000s to make the All-Tournament team without playing in the national title game
Flagg is the best two-way player in this draft class. He was known for his defensive prowess entering his first and only season at the college level but developed into a legitimate threat on the offensive end
GIBBI View: Flagg is a tremendous player and the most probably he’s going to be the #1 pick this next draft, where the NBA Draft Lottery will be this next May 12 and we’ll know the team that will get the #1 pick; I still think that Flagg is a great player but not a generational player that can lead a team to the championship
Max Verstappen Linked To $300 Million Aston Martin Deal (Front Office Sports)
Aston Martin is set to offer Verstappen a three-year deal worth $300 million, according to a report Friday by Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. The contract would reportedly be funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund
Verstappen, who is third in the drivers’ championship, has been linked to Aston Martin given the recent struggles of Red Bull. While Aston Martin only sits at seventh in the constructors championship (Red Bull is third), they will adopt a Honda engine, like Red Bull, starting next season
Verstappen’s current contract with Red Bull still runs until 2028. However, there are several ways for drivers to get out of their deals early, including exit clauses. Mercedes driver George Russell acknowledged Thursday that long-term contracts are somewhat meaningless
GIBBI View: Remember that Red Bull has been struggling since last year, when Checo Pérez, second driver, had a lot of problem with his car that led him to finish in 8th place and led to his fired, so it looks that it wasn’t Checo’s fault and this problem is happening to Verstappen this year too
Chipotle Mexican Grill Will Open Its First Restaurant In México (BNN Bloomberg)
The California-based chain said Monday it’s planning to open a restaurant in Mexico early next year, its first location south of the border in its 30-year history
Chipotle is partnering with Alsea in Mexico City, a company that operates Domino’s, Starbucks, Burger King, Chili’s and other brands in South America and Europe. Alsea plans to explore additional expansion in Mexico and other locations in the region
Chipotle, which was founded in Denver in 1993, has 3,700 restaurants and plans to open up to 345 new locations this year
GIBBI View: This is a great news for México, because even that the famous Trump’s tarrifs and all the critics that Trump and his administration have said about México, U.S. Companies (and foreign) are still investing and openining offices in the country, amazing
