UEFA Champions League Semifinals: First Leg Games (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Bayern vs Real Madrid (Tonight at 15:00 ET on Munich, Germany)
Dortmund vs PSG (Tomorrow at 15:00 ET on Dortmund, Germany)
My Prediction I: Bayern and Real Madrid will tie
My Prediction II: PSG will win by 1 goal
GIBBI View: I think that Real Madrid will win this tournament because They defeated the reigning champion team in quaterfinals (Man City), and Real Madrid is the king of this competition and always find ways to win impossible games, so the other three teams don’t have anything to do against Real Madrid and Real Madrid will lift its 15th title of this competition
Detroit Breaks NFL Draft Attendance Record (AXIOS Detroit)
Detroit broke the NFL Draft's attendance record with 775,000 people, and the Lions made a flurry of trades over the weekend to stock their roster with young talent
Detroit shined throughout the three-day draft, setting a new standard for hosting the NFL's annual fan festival
The Lions' bevy of draft picks should help them defend the NFC North division title and compete for a Super Bowl next year
GIBBI View: NFL always find ways to generate money even when it’s offseason, now the NFL Draft has become the “New Super Bowl” for teams that can’t host SuperBowl for the weather condition in their cities, so in the next years We’ll see that NFL Draft will be move every year and maybe to do it in a a foreign country (England, Germany) in 10 years from now
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Buy Stake in Necaxa (VARIETY)
Reynolds and McElhenney have purchased a stake in Club Necaxa, the century-old Mexican soccer club that also counts Eva Longoria among its owners
Club Necaxa is based in Aguascalientes, in northern-central Mexico. The size of the R.R. McReynolds’ stake is unclear. It’s a minority interest but said by a source close to the deal to be of “significant” size
Club Necaxa was valued in the low nine figures back in 2021, when a group led by Tylis and Porter and including Longoria bought about 50% of the franchise from the Tinajero family
GIBBI View: Since Tinajero Family sold 50% of franchise in 2021, Necaxa have had a very bad perfomance in Liga MX Tournaments, where have finished in the last places and have dedicated to buy “cheap & bad” players in South America and “sell” them to Liga MX Top Teams, MLS Teams and/or European Teams, so let’s see if Ryan & Rob can improve the team in next tournaments
Meta Will Launch A Bonus Program For Creators On Threads (Tech Crunch)
To increase engagement, the social media giant is running a limited-time bonus program for Threads. The company confirmed to TechCrunch about a limited-time invite-only program for creators, which began testing in March
Meta said that invited creators will have “individualized” requirements for bonuses. At the moment, the program is limited to creators in the U.S. The company said it might expand the program to other regions if successful
The new bonus program is also a good opportunity for creators who might want to build out an audience on the new platform. However, the monetary benefits might be temporary, as Meta hasn’t detailed long-term plans for creators to earn money on Threads
GIBBI View: This is clear way to compete against X (former Twitter), because X has a similar way to pay Content Creators in its platforms, also it’s a way to bring Creators from X to Threads and let’s see if this new program will work for what Threads is looking for
Lucky vs Repeatable (Collab Fund)
Lucky implies random events you could not see coming. What isn’t repeatable is different. It’s so important to know the difference between the two when attempting to learn from someone. You want to try to emulate skills that are repeatable
There’s a law in evolution called Dollo’s Law of Irreversibility that says once a species loses a trait, it will never gain that trait back because the path that gave it the trait in the first place was so complicated that it can’t be replicated
In business and investing, you want to learn the big lessons about why things behave the way they do without assuming the past is a direct guide to the future, because it’s not – most of the details are not repeatable
GIBBI View: Something that I’ve learnt all these years, it’s that You need to prepare every day the best You can so when the opportunity arrives You can take it, but most of the time You have to have “luck” to be in the “right place” to get that opportunity because that can be in another place and You’ll never take it
