Stories:

Firma is going Public (The Verge)
Figma, the platform that specializes in collaborative interface design, has filed for an initial public offering (IPO). The company will trade under the ticker symbol “FIG” as it prepares to “double down” on its investments in AI
Figma was nearly acquired by Adobe for $20 billion in 2022, but the two companies scrapped the deal in 2023 after facing pressure from regulators in the UK and the European Union
Figma confidentially filed for an IPO in April. Its new filing reveals Figma’s revenue spiked to $228.2 million from $156.2 million when compared to the same time last year. This year, Figma expanded its library of tools to include features for website building, AI coding, branded marketing, and digital illustration
GIBBI View: Let’s see if after Figma makes its IPO, most startups follow Figma and start to make their IPO in U.S. (the most probably) or in another part of the world (London, Singapore)
xAI Raises $10B in Debt & Equity (Tech Crunch)
Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has raised $10 billion in debt and equity, Morgan Stanley confirmed on Monday. In a post on X, the financial giant said xAI had raised $5 billion in debt and another $5 billion in a separate strategic equity transaction
This latest funding follows a $6 billion round that the company raised in December from a slate of big-name investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blackrock, Fidelity, Lightspeed, MGX, Morgan Stanley, Sequoia Capital, Valor Equity Partners, and others
The new equity round brings xAI’s total capital raised to about $17 billion
GIBBI View: xAI raised money because they need to compete against the other AI Startups (Open, Anthropic, META AI, etc) that in this moment these AI Startups have better products to offer than xAI; but I never bet against Elon because Elon has showed that he always win and knows what he’s doing
Gold Cup 2025: Semifinals - Predictions (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
U.S vs Guatemala, tonight at 19:00 ET on City Park (St. Louis, Missouri)
México vs Honduras, tonight at 22:00 ET on Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara, California)
My Prediction:
México & U.S. qualify to Final
GIBBI View: U.S & México are favorite to win their games and qualify to Final, but Guatemala and Honduras have showed that they can compete and defeat top rivals to achieve this stage, but in the end I think that México & U.S. have enough talent to advance to Final
FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Round of 16 - Scores (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Left Side:
Right Side:
GIBBI View: There were two surprises in this round, Fluminense eliminating Inter & Al Hilal eliminating Man City, where now it let’s that part of the bracket “open” to any team to reach Final but I think that Chelsea will arrive to Final; about the other part of the bracket it’s the toughest, there are three favorite teams to reach the Final (PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern), where I think that PSG is the best team inthis moment and will reach the Final, let’s see
English Premier League Integrates Microsoft AI into Fan App (CNBC)
The English Premier League is bringing artificial intelligence to the soccer pitch through a new partnership with Microsoft
The five-year agreement will integrate Microsoft’s Copilot AI into the English Premier League app, offering fans access to more than 300,000 articles, 9,000 videos and statistics from the league dating back to its founding in 1992
Future iterations of the technology will translate text and audio into a user’s native language and will enhance the digital Fantasy Premier League offerings
GIBBI View: I decided to put this news because it talks about use the AI to translate text and audio, so remember that I’m working in a similar startup that I call it GIBBI Speak, so I think that if I can develop it I can start to sell it to big companies like Microsoft or Premier League, let’s see
