Kings vs Lakers (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Tonight at 18:00 ET on Golden 1 Center (Sacramento, California)
Kings: 13-15 record (12th place on Western Conference)
Lakers: 15-12 record (7th place on Western Confere)
This Series: 2-0
GIBBI View: Lakers are undefeated against Kings this season, when before this season Lakers had lost 11 straight games and Anthony Davis hadn’t defeated Sabonis; both teams played last thursday where Lakers won the game easily: My Prediction: Lakers loss by 7+ points difference
Ravens vs Steelers (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Today at 16:30 ET on M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore, Maryland)
Ravens: 9-5 record (2nd place on AFC North)
Steelers: 10-4 record (1st place on AFC North)
Last Match:
Week 11: Steelers 18-16 Ravens
GIBBI View: Steelers clinched a spot to playoffs last week (even that lost against Eagles) because Dolphins and Colts lost their games, and if Steelers win this game Steelers will win AFC North Division; Ravens need a victory to tie Steelers in 1st place but even with a victory Steelers will still lead the division; My Prediction: Steelers have won 8 out of the las 9 games played and the last 4 games, so I think that this will be a game with little points and I think that Steelers will win it by 1+ points difference
College Football Playoffs (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
#11 SMU vs #6 Penn State, Today at 12:00 ET
#12 Clemson vs #5 Texas, Today at 16:00 ET
#9 Tennessee vs #8 Ohio State, Tonight at 20:00 ET
GIBBI View: This is the first time ever that 12 teams will play on College Football Playoffs, where in this first round yesterday Notre Dame defeated Indiana (27-17) and qualified to next round, and today will have the rest of the first round series, and all the games will be played in the team with the highest seed; My Prediction: The teams that win and advance to next round are Penn State, Texas and Ohio State
México City To Boost Mobility, Security Ahead Of FIFA World Cup (BNN Bloomberg)
Mexico City is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with plans to increase investment in mobility and security next year, according to a top official
The city’s proposed mobility budget, which includes initiatives to make it easier for fans to enter and exit the iconic Azteca stadium, will increase to nearly 7 billion pesos (around $348 million), representing 186% more than the 2024 allocation
The capital, led by the ruling party’s Clara Brugada, is also proposing a record high budget for its subway system, planning for 23 billion pesos in investment. The public works budget will increase 12.5% to 13.5 billion pesos
GIBBI View: Interesting that MORENA and Clara Brugada have enough money to invest in México City for FIFA World Cup but they don’t have enough money to invest to bring better basic services (water, power, sewage, etc) in the poorest sector of the city
Netflix Adds FIFA Women’s World Cup Rights In U.S. For 2027, 2031 (Sportico)
Netflix has acquired the U.S. media rights to the 2027 and 2031 installments of the Women’s World Cup, FIFA announced Friday
The 2027 event will be in Brazil while bidding remains open for the 2031 World Cup, with the U.S. being one potential host. Financial terms were not announced
Netflix has been expanding its live sports programming this year, with Christmas Day NFL games coming next week and WWE’s Monday Night Raw series moving there in January
GIBBI View: Netflix has started to expand its content and focus more in sports programmig, where it looks that it’s working and if this continues maybe Netflix could represent a big “threat” to the biggest sport companies like ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS, etc
