Grizzlies vs Lakers (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Tonight at 20:00 ET on FedEx Forum (Memphis, Tennessee)
Grizzlies: 44-29 record (5th place on Western Conference)
Lakers: 44-29 record (4th place on Western Conference)
This Series: 2-1 record
GIBBI View: Lakers came from a hurtful loss against Bulls, where Lakers blew a 18-points lead in Q4, lost after were leading by 5 points difference with 10 second to play and lost by a half court buzz-beater from Bulls; Grizzlies fired its head coach, Taylor Jenkins yesterday in a surprise because there’s only 2 weeks of games; My Prediction: This is a must win for both teams because both are tied with the same record, and the winner of the game will have the advantage in the end of the season; I think that Lakers loss by 2+ points difference
Chivas vs Cruz Azul (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Tonight at 21:05 CT on Jalisco Stadium (Guadalajara, Jalisco)
Chivas: 10th place with 16 points (4-4-4 record)
Cruz Azul: 5th place with 22 points (6-4-2 record)
GIBBI View: Cruz Azul will have an end of season very tough because in 21 days Cruz Azul will have to play 7 games (5 for LigaMX and 2 for CONCACHAMPIONS), where Cruz Azul will play 3 games against América (1 for Liga MX and 2 for CONCACHAMPIONS); Liga MX announced that Akron Stadium won’t be allow any fans for this game, and for that reason Chivas requested Liga MX to move on the game to Jalisco Stadium and Liga MX accepted the proposal (unbelievable); My Prediction: This game will finish in a tie
GIBBI Media Company (GIBBI)
The business ideas that I’ve written here in my blog are:
So based of what I learnt about Launch Startup Tuneup (meetings, pitches), I decided to stop to working in GIBBI Carsharing and start to focus in work in a harder way in GIBBI but in this time not just only this blog but that GIBBI can become a Media Company
So I’m going to continue writting my newsletter 4 to 6 days per week, write articles (maybe 1 or 2 articles per month) and recording videos/podcasts about my favorite sport teams but now I’m focusing in improve my content to get more customers and try to start to generate revenues
GIBBI View: After I attended Launch Startup Tuneup early this week and I heard about two sport media companies pitched their startups to Jason Calacanis, I decided to stop to work in GIBBI Carsharing and put all my effort in GIBBI to make that it can become a Media Company, because I think that I have more possibilities to make it in GIBBI Media Company than in GIBBI Carsharing, let’s see
Elon Musk Says xAI Acquired X (Elon on X)
xAI has acquired X in an all-stock transaction. The combination values xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion ($45B less $12B debt)
X is the digital town square where more than 600M active users go to find the real-time source of ground truth and, in the last two years, has been transformed into one of the most efficient companies in the world, positioning it to deliver scalable future growth
xAI and X’s futures are intertwined. Yesterday, they officially take the step to combine the data, models, compute, distribution and talent. This combination will unlock immense potential by blending xAI’s advanced AI capability and expertise with X’s massive reach
GIBBI View: I think that this was an obvious movement and I don’t understand why Elon lasted more of what I expected to do this; I think that xAI could get an advantage against other AI companies because xAI has the data in real-time of all it users and this could improve the data that xAI provides to its customers and get more subscribers and generate more revenues
Was TGL’s First Season A Success? (Huddle Up)
Let’s start with TV viewership because everyone knows media rights are how sports leagues make the majority of their revenue. TGL’s first regular season averaged 513,000 viewers on ESPN platforms with a total audience of 19.3 million viewers
TGL’s most popular matches averaged around 1 million viewers, while the least-viewed match had 160,000 viewers on ESPN2. There is obviously a pretty wide gap between those numbers, but that’s why providing additional context is so important
ESPN is happy with that outcome, but it gets even better when you consider that it’s been reported that ESPN paid TGL less than $10 million to broadcast season one
GIBBI View: I’d give a chance to watch this new golf tournament because it looks that it’s more dynamic, with more emotion and it’s shorter (the time to watch it) than a traditional golf tournament, so I think that it’ll increase its audience the next year
