Cruz Azul vs Pumas (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Tonight at 21:10 CT on Cuauhtémoc Stadium (Puebla, México)
Cruz Azul: 5th place with 25 points (7-4-2 record)
Pumas: 10th place with 17 points (5-2-6 record)
GIBBI View: Cruz Azul come from a back to back victories in Liga MX, and Cruz Azul tied against América 0-0 in CONCACHAMPIONS - Quaterfinals First Leg; Since Efraín Juárez became Pumas’ coach, Pumas have a 2-1-0 record in Liga MX, and Pumas tied against Whitecaps 1-1 in CONCACHAMPIONS - Quaterfinals First Leg; My Prediction: Remember that Cruz Azul play in Olímpico Universitario Stadium (Pumas’ stadium) but because Pumas will play as away team Cruz Azul had to move on the game to Cuauhtémoc Stadium; both teams will put bench players to play, so I think that Cruz Azul win by 1 goal difference
Why So Few Sports Teams Go Public? (CNBC)
Over the last two decades, the value of North American sports franchises has surged. Teams in the NFL, NBA, and MLB have seen valuations climb nearly 1,000% according to data from Forbes
Despite that massive growth, most teams remain privately owned, typically passed down through generations of ultra-wealthy families. For many owners, these franchises aren’t just businesses; they’re cultural assets, status symbols and tools for influence
Going public could offer liquidity and access to new capital, but it also comes with tradeoffs. Public companies face tighter regulation, shareholder pressure, and financial transparency
GIBBI View: Take the example Man United and Juventus that both are public companies and they’ve been having financial and sport problems, and now seeing that U.S. Sports Leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB) decided to allow finance for private firms I see more difficult that any U.S sport team can go public in the short time
March Madness 2025: Final Four Games (GIBBI’s Editorial Staff)
Semifinal #1:
1.Auburn vs 1.Florida (18:09 ET, Alamodome, San Antonio, TX)
Semifinal #2:
1.Duke vs 1.Houston (20:49 ET, Alamodome, San Antonio, TX)
Winner of each semifinal will qualify to Championship Game next monday on same stadium
GIBBI View: This is the first time since 2008 that all #1 seeds qualified to final four round, so I think that we’ll watch tremendous games tonight; My Prediction: I think that Auburn vs Duke will be the championship game
From NFL Rejection To Final Four Fame (Huddle Up)
The preparation process started last year when the City of San Antonio approved $30 million in upgrades to build 18 new luxury suites, and it will continue all the way up to tipoff as the stadium crew rushes to install temporary seats and even new hardwood
The NCAA will say that they have moved the Final Four into football stadiums so that more fans could attend the experience, but it’s really about money. A 50,000-seat difference at $200 per ticket translates to $10 million more in ticket sales per game
The Alamodome is one of the only venues in the world to host NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL games, but it doesn’t stop there. The venue is full at least 150 nights a year because they also host other events like WWE’s Royal Rumble and boxing matches
GIBBI View: The Alamodome is where frequently Mexican National Football Team plays its friendly games in U.S., and it’s amazing how in almost every U.S state there’s minimum a venue of this characteristics, and I think that México doesn’t have minimum one venue of this kind, so sad
Trump Extends TikTok Ban Deadline By 75 Days (Tech Crunch)
President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for the TikTok ban by 75 days. Trump shared a post on Truth Social on Friday stating that he is signing an executive order to allow for more time to finalize a deal. The ban was previously scheduled to go into effect on April 5
“The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days”, Trump wrote
Today’s announcement marks the second time that Trump has extended the deadline for the TikTok ban. Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office to give the company 75 more days make a deal
GIBBI View: Yesterday I wrote here that Trump was going to extend for second time the deadline for the Tiktok ban, I was thinking that Trump was going to give 30 days but it was more time; and last thursday, I wrote here that Amazon made a last-minute bid for TikTok, but in the end the most probably is that Andreessen Horowitz, Oracle an another minor investors will acquire TikTok US in the next days
