Reddit wants to be a Search Engine (The Verge)
CEO Steve Huffman says that the company is “concentrating our resources on the areas that will drive results for our most pressing needs,” including “making Reddit a go-to search engine”
Reddit’s core search has more than 70 million weekly active unique users, Reddit overall averages 416.4 million weekly active unique users, and Reddit Answers, the platform’s AI search tool that it launched in December, has 6 million weekly users, up from 1 million weekly users in the first quarter of this year
Of course, the move to build out its own search capabilities could be a hedge against losing traffic from Google, which is increasingly finding new ways to give you answers with AI instead of providing a list of links
GIBBI View: Google is facing a lot of competition in search engine field, where most of the AI Startups are creating their search engine and it looks that Google is going to loss its “advantage” in this field, so let’s see how Google is going to react about that

Jeff Park joins ProCap as Chief Investment Office (The Pomp Letter)
That is why I am (Anthony Pompliano) excited to announce Jeff Park has joined me at ProCap BTC LLC as Partner and Chief Investment Officer
Jeff is the former Head of Alpha Strategies at Bitwise Asset Management, one of the world’s largest crypto-specialist asset managers. While at Bitwise, Jeff was recognized by the prestigious Institutional Investor as the crypto industry’s first “Hedge Fund Rising Star”
Jeff has the rare ability to clearly communicate big ideas, so I thought everyone would enjoy reading what Jeff had to say about bitcoin treasury companies, why he is joining ProCap, and how he is thinking about the opportunity in front of our business.
GIBBI View: Anthony Pompliano is the person to follow to try to achieve my goals in a profesional side, because he’s a newsletter and manage his own private investment firm, something that I want to achieve; so my goals are to build my Media Company, Super App and my Private Investment Firm
OpenAI says ChatGPT is on track to reach 700M Weekly Users (CNBC)
OpenAI is set to hit 700 million weekly active users for ChatGPT this week, up from 500 million in March, marking a more than fourfold year-over-year surge in growth, the company said Monday
OpenAI now has five million paying business users on ChatGPT, up from three million in June, as enterprises and educators increasingly integrate AI tools
The investment is part of a SoftBank-led $40 billion fundraising round, according to a person familiar with the deal, who asked not to be named in order to discuss financial information. The raise was completed ahead of schedule and was five times oversubscribed
GIBBI View: Last saturday I wrot that OpenAI raised $8.3 billion in a $300 billion valuation, where the company is tracking to surpass $20 billion by the year-end; I think that we’re in an AI Bubble that is going to “explode” sooner than later, because it’s not possible that AI Startups are rasing money each 3 months and don’t give the enough results to “justify” that kind of money
New York Post to launch Los Angeles Daily Newspaper, The California Post (VARIETY)
New York Post, meet the West Coast. The media group behind The New York Post, Page Six and Decider is launching a new daily newspaper headquartered in Los Angeles, titled The California Post
The publication will hit newsstands in 2026 and promises to offer readers “fearless, common-sense journalism, celebrity and entertainment news, world class sports reporting and the legendary covers people expect from The New York Post, but from a distinctly Californian perspective,” per a press release
News Corp veteran Nick Papps, who was previously based in L.A. as the West Coast correspondent for News Corp Australia, will serve as editor-in-chief of The California Post
GIBBI View: One of my goals is to create my Media Company, where for that reason I created this blog 3 years ago, so my target is to create a Media Company where I want to talk/write about sports, tech and business about México and U.S.
